What's Your Color Style?

Wanna find your power color? Click here

There are three dimensions of color: hue, value and intensity.

Each dimension is important when selecting clothes that are slenderizing.

Hue
is the actual name of a color. Some colors, like red, yellow and orange, seem to project a feeling of warmth. Warm colors are advancing. They tend to make you appear closer and increase your apparent body size. Colors like blue, green and purple, seem to project a cool feeling. They tend to recede and decrease your apparent body size.

Value is the lightness or darkness of a color. Light attracts the eye, therefore, lighter colored garments will cause the wearer to appear larger than medium to dark shades of a color.

Intensity is the range of color from bright to dull. When wearing garments of intense colors the wearer will seem to appear larger.

The warmth or coolness of a color, its value and intensity all work together to produce an infinite number of colors which is perceived by the eye of the looker. With these facts in mind, you have a variety of choices to make yourself appear pounds thinner, all of us want to appear shapely and there is no denial to that.

Color can be used to emphasize some features and draw attention away from others. Yes there is a science that makes a color work for you, on you:

* To appear smaller choose a cool color in a medium value and a less intense color for large areas of your clothing. However, if you want to use warm colors in your wardrobe, select shades of warm hues instead of intense values. (example: Select rust instead of orange; maroon instead of pink.)

* If you like bright warm colors, use them as accents at the neckline or in your accessories. You might select a scarf or pin or collar which is emphasized because it contrasts with the different value and intensity of your outfit.

* Red may be your favorite color and it is becoming to you. Select a red blouse that will be worn under a gray or navy suit. The red around your face will keep the focus on your face rather than your not-so-perfect figure. One-color outfits are generally slimming. When wearing two shades in one outfit, select with care. Use the darker shade in the area you want to de-emphasize. The lighter shade can be used to balance the larger areas.

* An important factor to consider about color is to select colors that are becoming to you. People with warm personal coloring will be more flattered by colors with warm (orange or yellow) undertones. People with cool personal coloring will be more flattered by colors with cool (blue or red) undertones.

I never knew a girl who was ruined by a COLOR. Let it not Ruin You.
Happy Week Ahead

Because I love you

WHERE ARE THE VOTES FOR BABE OF THE WEEK?

HELLO!!

Why is it that you haunt my dreams?
Is it because I'm still in love with you,
Or Remnants of love that once was?

Why is it I get angry about our broken love?
Is it because I'm still in love with you,
Or because I choose to hope?

Why is it that I can look at no-one else?
Is it because I'm still in love with you,
Or that I look for another you in everybody else?

Why is it that I cant go to sleep without thinking about you?
Is it because I'm still in love with you,
Or the memories of what was?

Why is it that every couple reminds me of us?
Is it because I'm still in love with you,
Or because I miss what we had?

Why does it kill, to picture you in another s arms?
Is it because I'm still in love with you,
Or because I know they wont treat you right?

Why do I stay up all night, thinking of what went wrong?
Is it because I'm still in love with you?
Or is it because I want to go back in time and make it right?

Why is it that I do not feel like waking?
Is it because I'm still in love with you,
Or because I feel as if you have taken my life and soul?

Why is it when I get my feelings back up they drop right back down?
Is it because I'm still in love with you,
Or because I cant see why?

Why is it that I feel so empty?
Is it because I'm still in love with you?
Or is it because I cant receive your love?

Why is it that I cant reason WHY?
Is it because I'm still in love with you?
Or because it was too small of a reason to end our love?

Why is it that I feel all this pain?
Is is because I'm still in love with you,
Or because I strive to hang on to our love?

Why is it that I write this poem?
It IS because I'm still in love with you,
And to tell you, No longer, will I just sit and wait...

Romance is in the Air - I

Thank God its Friday. The week that has been strictly hectic and killing with work is coming to an end. Time to relax, lay down, get a beauty treatment, a spa, do some shopping, hang out with friends and meet up with the guy.
But running out of places to go out with the guy?
Try watching some romantic comedies, down on the couch, resting head on his shoulder, holding his hand, laughing out loud on comedy sequences and getting naughty on those intimate scenes.

Here is a list of some evergreen romantic comedies that would be great fun to watch with your guy. Okay, even if you watch them alone, they are as much fun.

Love Actually:
Christmas time in England, and unusual things going on round. Some people are falling in love, then breaking up or some people just desperately lonely and still looking for that someone special. This is a story about 8 people who follow their hearts and show love or anger. If you look carefully around 'Love Actually' is all around you...

A lot like Love:

She gives the bill to a newspaperman and she says that she would sell the book in a New York used books store. She states that if destiny wants them two together, Jonathan will get that book back. Or she will receive that bill again. From this day on, Jonathan will 'chase' Sara's book trying to reach his lost love
Cast: John Cussak, Kate Blenkinsale

Just like heaven:
Elizabeth Masterson is a doctor with a life of work, devoid of joy. But when an accident renders her into a spirit, Elizabeth may be forced to live something she has avoided: downtime. However, with her no longer occupying her apartment, it's been given to David Abbott, a good guy but a lonely landscape artist who has caught the ire of Elizabeth. She haunts him as a bitter spirit. She's not willing to give up her place to David, and he's not going to back down from his new home. But as these two continually fight, they might just be attracted to each other

50 first dates:
Henry Roth is a veterinarian living in Hawaii who enjoys the company of vacationing women. He leaves the playboy life behind after he falls for Lucy, who suffers from short-term memory loss. Dilwale dulhaniya le jayenge:

The two meet on a month long Eurotrip, and what began as pranks and fun and games, ends in love. Babe of the Week Anyone?

Was wondering if anyone is interested in playing Babe of the Week.

The way I think it is a celeb central for one babe.

She might be a member of Femme Fatale or someone, anyone of us knows of.

We'll tag her for a short and crisp interview and award her.

We pick our winner by weekend votes. By Saturday Evening we should have the name of a winner and we award her. Pick a name when you comment, if you want to go with this flow.

You all know the ingredients one needs to be labeled 'a babe' **smile!

She will have to give a short interview which will be posted on Femme Fatale and there will be an award she can paste on her blog which she receives from Femme Fatale.

Say what Babes?

To be a mother....

No matter how strong and independent we are..no matter how career oriented and carefree we are.. no matter how modern we are... a part of us yearns to be a mother someday.. to go through the ordeal just to ensure that growing little one within us is safe..to make the sky the limit for him/her... to give him or her the world... to experience the happiest blessing on earth...

I don't know the first thing about being a mother... but i know i want to be one...to able to hold and revere gods gift to cherish womanhood.. to be able to give birth to the little one, a symbol of love. i don't know if ever i will be a good mother... i don't know if i will be able to give up being paranoid about the whole giving birth process...but i know i want to someday...i will go through all the ordeal just to be a proud mom....

I know there are times when nature's bliss eludes us... but not always one has to bear a child to be a mother... rearing matters too.. people like Sushmita Sen should be applauded for being generous and having a heart of gold for embracing motherhood despite being single.. she lives the life on her terms and still manages to be a perfect example not only for her daughter and several others... it takes courage and a generous heart to be able to embrace a child as one's own... and kudos to people like Susmita Sen,Angelina Jolie, Madonna who have stepped forward to embrace a child and make a difference...

Make a difference this mothers day.... salute motherhood and shed the superstition and prejudice against adoption... be generous...don't deny a child a future, open your heart and warm it up for a little one, be a proud mom.. whether adoptive, clinical or biological...

I'ts a blessing to be a mother... and I'm glad that God choose us to be the nurtures.. maybe motherhood among a few other things makes me feel that truly no matter how hard being a woman is.. its all worth it!! :)

Happy Mother's day!!

Time to move on!!

Last week, a girl friend called up and said she accidentally reset her iPod and doesn't know how to reload it. She asked me if I could do it for her. I readily agreed because I love gadgets. I would not say I am tech-savvy, but I use gadgets a lot and inside my handbag, my IPod, my digi-cam is always found besides my cell phone of course.

That was okay, untill one of her comment "I dont know how do you do it but I guess girls are illitrate when it comes to ectronics",took me wondering why is it that girls are generally not aware and not interested in gadgets.

Gadgets, besides being status symbol, are of use and why do we tend to run from using hi-tech electronic items? Gadgets are technology made simpler guys. Stop dreading them. All you have to do is to read the manual they provide it with them. it is easy to read and easy to understand with all those graphical representations.

A li'l knowledge about technology is believe me, not fatal. Rather it makes life easy. Isn't that the reason why MNCs spend a fortune and decades on improving electronics and making them handy?

Today, I thought of bringing a post that could make my girl friends aware of simple gadgets that we use every day and they use it confidently and stop behaving like amateurs when it comes to electronics.

Computer- people, learn to install windows. It is a basic necessity. So that you don't have to be dependent on anyone else whenever your PC needs a re-install. It is very very easy. All you need to do is to run a CD and follow the instructions. Learn to install/ uninstall programs that you require. Learn a few softwares that you may need. And learning doesn't require going to an institute and paying huge fees. Just have the guts to explore things. Almost all softwares come with instructions. Learn to make better use of the internet than just chatting, networking and blogging. No doubt they are integral part of our lives, but reach out, use search engines, dictionaries, news you can use and hell load of information from the Internet. Download, not just wallpapers and songs, but softwares, e-books, movies as well.

Mobile phones- please it is a genuine request that forget the excuse that says "phone to sirf baat karne ki liye hota hai". I guess we are wasting the technology if we do not use it the way it is meant to be.
Mobile phone these days come armed with hi-end technology-camera, music player, videos player, connectivity with bluetooth, wi-fi, 3-G and much more. Exciting. isnt it? Calculator, world clock, converters, there are so many inbuilt functions that can make things as fast as a snap of finger. All we need is to press a few keys and explore it.

IPods/ Mp3 players- Lots of people who carry IPods/ Mp3 players, whether gifted by a relative in foreign or just bought for the sake status symbol, don't know the actual use of it. It isn't meant only to listen music with your ears ducted; it has many other features too. Photos, videos, movies, games, are functions inbuilt. All we need is to look.

Digi cams- remember those clumsy cameras that used the films? Such a boring job it used to be. Get a role, insert it, set focus, roll the camera, click the picture, finish the role, get it developed, only to find out the pictures aren't as good and clear. The occasion remained in the memory lanes only. Hassle free Digital cameras are such relief from the unmanageable and tiresome manual cameras. Aren't they? But most of us don't bother to find out the functions of the camera. All they know is to get the cam and start clicking. No doubt it is as easy, but really, there are loads of functions that can be used for better picture quality and clicking clear picture in different light scenarios.

Video Games- Computer games, video games, play stations, Xbox, Wii.

These are names I am sure many of us will be unaware of. Games are fun guys. Believe me. Try out them once with your guy and if you don't get addicted, it will be fair for you to scold him for them. It is fun more than anything. Dont you remember the days of Mario brothers and brick games?

I guess that is enough for now. I really hope you guys don't bombard abuses and taunts on me for this post.. :D

Beauty lies in the Hair

Hair is the most important ornament of beauty. Lucky are the women who have naturally beautiful hair. But it is equally important for all of us to oil hair regularly.

Oiling is essential to cope with the problems like hair fall and dandruff. Without oil, hair can become rough, dry and frizzy. Oiling hydrates and moisturizes hair. So good is oiling, that it can correct the dryness and damage of strong hair dyes on your hair.

Oiling hair is the most important task for maintaining long and strong hair. You can select the oil according to your preference. You can select from coconut oil, almond oil, jojoba oil, olive oil or any other oil that you like. But do avoid mineral oil. Oiling hair is important than using any other cosmetic products and treatments. You can turn your hair from dry to dramatic with the useful hair oiling tips below. Read on to get hair that radiates good health.

Tips for oiling your hair

You use different techniques for doing things in your daily life. Oiling hair should also be done using some smart techniques to optimize its effectiveness. If you want to avoid hair fall and grow thick and shiny hair you can try the following hair oiling secrets.

o Heat oil to a warm temperature before applying it on your hair

o Make partitions while oiling your hair. Rub oil in each partition. Make as many partitions of hair as you can. This will help oil to reach the scalp properly. Do not just pour oil on your hair

o Avoid using too much of oil. Start applying little to each part of head and then massage. Massaging is important than the quantity of oil you use

o Dip your finger tips in oil. Gently massage with finger on scalp by putting your hands inside hair

o Massage with your fingers at least for 10 to 15 minutes after oiling your hair

o Avoid washing your hair immediately after oiling. If you do not like to wear oily hair, you can oil it before going to bed. You can wash your hair the next day. For best results let the oil stay for one day on your hair. When you make the oil stay for longer time it soaks in the scalp better

o Oil your hair at least once a week. If your hair is very dry you should oil it at least twice a week

o Rub oil on the roots of your hair. it helps to improve blood circulation and make hair silky and strong

If you want to keep your hair break free, oil it regularly. Oiling hair will also help you relax after a long day. Massaging hair is a popular stress buster.

Optimal use of oil requires lesser shampoo to wash it off. This will help to save your time and avoid misuse of oil. Oil is a conditioner and hair moisturize. It may not stop heavy hair fall but it certainly controls hair breakage and split ends. Regular oiling makes hair lustrous and adds shine to it. All you need is a good shampoo and conditioner after oiling and you will be set to comb your beautiful hair.

I like sharing. So here is my share of care.
Do apply ladies!

Rise and Shine!!

When people talk behind your back, what does it mean??

Simple! It means that you are two steps ahead of them!!

So, keep moving ahead in Life....

Prevention is always better than cure

I do recall a post on Femme Fatale regarding the subject, but I'd like to share a little more of the wide curse of Breast Cancer.

Safe & Sound

It’s the most common cancer to affect women, but not many of us realize that whilst five percent of all breast cancer cases are hereditary, 90 percent of cases are due to lifestyle choices. Breast cancer has affected many celebrities, including Kylie Minogue and Cynthia Nixon, who have both spoken openly about their battle against the disease. Caused by the uncontrolled growth of breast cells, whilst you can’t change your genetic makeup we reveal the steps you can take to minimize the risks….

1 Check your bra:
Women who wear tight-fitting bras 24 hours-a day-are 125 times more likely to develop breast cancer than women who do not wear bras at all. And wearing the wrong bra stops the lymphatic system from flowing freely, so make sure you’re wearing the correct size and take it off at night. I know women who just don't listen and I wonder why, what is it that tight fitting has with their psyche I am just to discover.

2 Go Organic:
Non-organic foods are often loaded with chemicals which cannot be washed of, and only about 20 percent of the chemicals in fruits and vegetables are on the surface, while the remainder lies inside the plant. Did you know that most of the feed our chicken and cattle are fed are mixed with chemicals? And the field on which the fruits and vegetables grow? you know how it is treated right? WASH WELL WHAT YOU EAT. Never cut and Wash, Always soak em well before you cut a vegetable or fruit.

3 Get Active:
Regular exercise is a protective factor against breast cancer - it helps keep weight and fat levels down. Aim to exercise at least three times a week for at least 30 minutes.

4 Breastfeed Your Babies:
Women who have their first baby above the age of 30 have a slightly increased risk of breast cancer. Researchers say factors such as the earlier a woman has her first baby, along with breastfeeding, help to lower the risk.

5 Kick the Habit:
Older women who puff on cigarettes may be more likely to develop breast cancer than women who have never smoked.

6 Check Your Breasts:
Women from the age of 20 upwards should carry out a self-examination once a month.

The key risk factors…
• Being a woman
• Getting older - it’s a sad truth that your chance of getting cancer increases with age
• Having a family or previous history of breast cancer
• Being overweight
• Consuming more than one alcoholic drink per day
• Using birth control pills
• Having started your periods before the age of 12
• Having no children, having your first child after 35, or not breast feeding your children
• Having particularly dense breasts or a high bone density.

The good news
The positive side is that the techniques for detecting breast cancer and the treatments for tackling it are improving every year.
Awareness is spreading and more lives are being saved.
Make sure you and your friends protect yourselves too by knowing all the facts.

Please love yourself. There is no love better than self love.
