It's Our Day!!

If there is a future there is time for mending-
Time to see your troubles coming to an ending.

Life is never hopeless however great your sorrow-
If you're looking forward to a new tomorrow.

If there is time for wishing then there is time for hoping-
When through doubt and darkness you are blindly groping.

Though the heart be heavy and hurt you may be feeling-
If there is time for praying there is time for healing.

So if through your window there is a new day breaking-
Thank God for the promise, though mind and soul be aching,

If with harvest over there is grain enough for gleaning-
There is a new tomorrow and life still has meaning.

Lots of Love,
Ria

Nourish your face for winter

Sitting in front of the heater, radiators, can actually dry up your skin especially if you don’t drink enough water. So make sure you keep up your water levels up! If you feel that winter is getting the better of you then try these stirring up masks at home, to perk up your skin

* Avocado mask is ideal for dry skin that becomes very irritated in the winter, nourishing your skin and providing a whole range of vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, and softening agents to fight winter dryness. Mash the flesh of avocado with a fork, add a touch of extra-virgin olive oil, and apply this smooth, fragrant mixture onto your face.

* An egg white mask is good for oily skin with large pores. This mask will refresh and tighten your oily skin and will make it look much healthier than before. In the winter, it will create a natural barrier to protect your skin from harsh winds and frost.

* Smooth a beaten egg yolk all over your face, let rest for half-an-hour, and rinse with water.

* An oatmeal mask is great remedy to beat cold wind; your face should feel very soft, refreshed, and healed.Mix together in equal proportions raw oatmeal flakes, egg yolk and honey. Keep the mask on your face for about 20 minutes, wash with lukewarm water, and pat dry.

* This banana mask is great for those who have combination skin and suffer from winter elements. It will smooth, soften, moisturize and nourish your skin whenever necessary and will make you forget about the cold, harsh, and nasty winter outside. Mix mashed banana with fresh sweet cream and apply all over your face for 30 minutes.

Behind Every Successful Man....

One night president Obama and his wife Michelle decided to do something out of routine & go for a casual dinner at a restaurant that wasn't too expensive. When they were seated, the owner of the restaurant asked the president's secret service if he could speak to the First Lady in private. They obliged and Michelle had a word with the owner.

Following the conversation President Obama asked Michelle, "Why was he so interested in talking to you?"
She said that in here teens, he had been madly in love with her.
President Obama said, " So if you had married him, you would be the owner of this lovely restaurant now."
To which Michelle replied, " No if i had married him, he would be the president now."

What's Your Color Style?

Wanna find your power color? Click here

There are three dimensions of color: hue, value and intensity.

Each dimension is important when selecting clothes that are slenderizing.

Hue
is the actual name of a color. Some colors, like red, yellow and orange, seem to project a feeling of warmth. Warm colors are advancing. They tend to make you appear closer and increase your apparent body size. Colors like blue, green and purple, seem to project a cool feeling. They tend to recede and decrease your apparent body size.

Value is the lightness or darkness of a color. Light attracts the eye, therefore, lighter colored garments will cause the wearer to appear larger than medium to dark shades of a color.

Intensity is the range of color from bright to dull. When wearing garments of intense colors the wearer will seem to appear larger.

The warmth or coolness of a color, its value and intensity all work together to produce an infinite number of colors which is perceived by the eye of the looker. With these facts in mind, you have a variety of choices to make yourself appear pounds thinner, all of us want to appear shapely and there is no denial to that.

Color can be used to emphasize some features and draw attention away from others. Yes there is a science that makes a color work for you, on you:

* To appear smaller choose a cool color in a medium value and a less intense color for large areas of your clothing. However, if you want to use warm colors in your wardrobe, select shades of warm hues instead of intense values. (example: Select rust instead of orange; maroon instead of pink.)

* If you like bright warm colors, use them as accents at the neckline or in your accessories. You might select a scarf or pin or collar which is emphasized because it contrasts with the different value and intensity of your outfit.

* Red may be your favorite color and it is becoming to you. Select a red blouse that will be worn under a gray or navy suit. The red around your face will keep the focus on your face rather than your not-so-perfect figure. One-color outfits are generally slimming. When wearing two shades in one outfit, select with care. Use the darker shade in the area you want to de-emphasize. The lighter shade can be used to balance the larger areas.

* An important factor to consider about color is to select colors that are becoming to you. People with warm personal coloring will be more flattered by colors with warm (orange or yellow) undertones. People with cool personal coloring will be more flattered by colors with cool (blue or red) undertones.

I never knew a girl who was ruined by a COLOR. Let it not Ruin You.
Happy Week Ahead

To be a mother....

No matter how strong and independent we are..no matter how career oriented and carefree we are.. no matter how modern we are... a part of us yearns to be a mother someday.. to go through the ordeal just to ensure that growing little one within us is safe..to make the sky the limit for him/her... to give him or her the world... to experience the happiest blessing on earth...

I don't know the first thing about being a mother... but i know i want to be one...to able to hold and revere gods gift to cherish womanhood.. to be able to give birth to the little one, a symbol of love. i don't know if ever i will be a good mother... i don't know if i will be able to give up being paranoid about the whole giving birth process...but i know i want to someday...i will go through all the ordeal just to be a proud mom....

I know there are times when nature's bliss eludes us... but not always one has to bear a child to be a mother... rearing matters too.. people like Sushmita Sen should be applauded for being generous and having a heart of gold for embracing motherhood despite being single.. she lives the life on her terms and still manages to be a perfect example not only for her daughter and several others... it takes courage and a generous heart to be able to embrace a child as one's own... and kudos to people like Susmita Sen,Angelina Jolie, Madonna who have stepped forward to embrace a child and make a difference...

Make a difference this mothers day.... salute motherhood and shed the superstition and prejudice against adoption... be generous...don't deny a child a future, open your heart and warm it up for a little one, be a proud mom.. whether adoptive, clinical or biological...

I'ts a blessing to be a mother... and I'm glad that God choose us to be the nurtures.. maybe motherhood among a few other things makes me feel that truly no matter how hard being a woman is.. its all worth it!! :)

Happy Mother's day!!

-DARE TO BE PROVOCATIVE-

Putting on sexy lingerie boosts your body image and bolsters how beautiful you are. Even the most conservative girls may admit to feeling more sensual wearing silk instead of flannel to bed. Yes to an extent the whole dish dosh is about stirring in men the eroticism that surpasses all other reasons but the real element is feminine confidence that outshines superficial comparisons and makes a woman believe in her unique and enticing internal and external beauty.

Men indeed are drawn by the erotic glow of sexuality but the confidence too, thus, looking good for our man in the bedroom is an integral part of the whole romance glam. What I personally feel about lingerie is that, it makes me feel incredibly sexy, incredibly wanted and just so loved. They will say I am mad, but I say 'I am crazy about me'. I do go out of my way to buy me satin sheets and I sleep alone on it. I don't have to show my femininity off all the time!

The feel of smooth satin and sexy lace against my skin makes me tingle with pleasure. I can imagine how out of his mind my partner will be if he sees me so confident carrying it off.

A sexy piece of lingerie does marvel for a woman's confidence, as well as impress her man. I can see me clad in a black suit, really professional on the outside and beneath the layers clad in ultra sexy lingerie making me all so feminine with the right balance of professionalism, and when I get home to a man waiting like a lion to be served in his den, ooh boy my mind is on a roll…

Girls, there is nothing worse than buying lingerie which is totally unfit for your body type. Bits squishing out from here and there, baggy, too tight or too loose is just not the key to confidence booster or highlighted body image.

Garters are just for tall women. They accentuate the impression that the long legs run up to the armpits. It is a sexy lingerie staple but not all women should go there.

A voluptuous, big-busted girl needs a corset support to bring out her cleavage in a very naughty yet noticeable manner. Corsets were designed to minimize the waist and flatten the stomach but also giving the body the right proportions.

A sexy little negligee, suits more voluptuous women and hides a mass of sins. A baby doll teddy will easily hide a big tummy or butt, and you can feel at ease knowing you still look beautiful showing off other assets. Strictly for married women who are tired of giving birth after birth. No single girls should get naughty now.

Sexy boy shorts add curves to an athletic figure and accentuate a great butt. They are explicitly for nice bottoms, as they draw all the attention there due to their horizontal lines and broad cut. Strictly for athletically slim girls.

I can never do without a robe, because the feel of satin blows my mind off. It adds mystery too to what lies beneath the surface.

Girls do keep in mind:

* Nothing should cling to parts you prefer were hidden, such as a big belly or thighs. Loose and flowing fabric enhances curves but doesn’t stick and should be picked for better femininity and confidence.

* Always enhance and draw attention to the best assets, be it her breasts, bottom, legs, tummy or shoulders. But decide on which is it. If you are too confused ask but don’t predict.

* Dark colors are slimming, while light colors draw attention to potential bulges. Kapeesh?

* If you are short you can gain length by having slits in the sides of gowns and negligees. Truly that adds to so much drama.

Colorize

Be sure that you own the basic colors; white, red and black. Blondes look great in pastel colors, but brunettes need stronger colors to set the flame on, like emeralds and sapphires. Redheads are set off by green, blue and earthy tones.

Texturize

I prefer lace or satin any day. There is a range to choose from when buying lingerie, such as lace, satin, silk, cotton, polyvinyl chloride (PVC), leather, lycra, and velvet. Lace, satin and silk are considered “safe purchases” because they are very feminine, not too wild or over-the-top and feel beautiful on the skin. Cotton is a tad boring, though there are some lovely pieces available in this fabric. Cotton is what women buy for themselves to wear every day, and I still don’t, so to buy it for something special is a little against the point. Don’t go near Cotton Please.

PVC is daring, though it can be difficult to find it in the right size, as it’s not a very flexible material and can produce bags and sags in all the wrong places. Lycra is very tight and bulges can be a bit too obvious, so beware. Velvet is also very nice on the skin and can be very sexy, making it also a reasonably safe choice. Lastly, when deciding on the lingerie’s fabric, always touch it before buying it; if you like it, only buy it then.

As a woman, you know how fabulous you feel on a good hair day. If you have wonderful pieces of lingerie don’t you think you will really be happier? Does the tight and ill fitting piece not get to you and your flesh? Do you not want to be comfortable?

Please own a sheer sexy nightwear, even if it is a pajama suit, every night could be a version of a good hair day then. It definitely gives you a better night's sleep. It is tried and tested.

Brands to Look Out For:

Sweet Nothings Lingerie

Tanga

3 Wishes

Her Room

Chic Mystique

La Perla

Fig Leaves

Bare Necessities

Victoria's Secret

La Senza

Happy Women's Day

Woman's Day Special
Ah! Woman

What can be said about that which has been proclaimed, 'Good,' by God, Almighty, Himself.

Born not from the dust of the ground, as man. Nor, as the fowl of the air. Nor, as the beast of the fields. Formed as flesh from flesh. Created in the Image of God. Molded by the tender, intimate hands of the Almighty, Himself. Quickened by His Breath. Alive with soul. Uniquely created for relationship with Man and God.

The 'crown of creation' bestowed upon 'Woman' cannot be measured by gold or gems. Her value far outweighs the most precious of them. Her virtues cannot be purchased. Her beauty, unsurpassed even by the most delicate of roses, cannot be captured on canvas nor molded in marble. Though many a gifted artisan has tried.

Her moods ever-changing as the ocean's tide. 'Woman' is fleeting. Able to only be understood by the God who created her. Woman. Most beautiful. Most glorious. Most creative of God's imagination, has been given the privilege to bear life from life. Creating from within the confines of her own sphere. Strength of iron flowing in her veins allow her to conquer agony. Overcome the rending, ripping pain that grips her as she expels life from her loins. Only 'Woman' can then reach between her own legs. Past the gush of water and blood. Bring to her breast. Life, to suckle, to fill with sustenance to grow.

Many a 'woman' have taken up the banner of 'Freedom' as man has failed mankind. 'Woman,' carries the burden of comforting. Soothing the fallen comrades. 'Woman,' unceasingly strives for the answer to man's disease. Compelled to stand at the side of a loved one as they pass from this life, to the land of everlasting. She stands firm in her vigil, never wavering from her duty. 'Woman,' buries her beloved fathers, husbands, and sons. Bears the burden of going on. Alone. Facing uncertainties with conviction she will survive.

'Woman,' weeps over the tyranny of the beast. Cries for the destruction of the weapons of war. Begs for mercy from a Merciful God. Pray for man to be delivered from the stench of death, the cramps of famine and the fever of battle. 'Woman,' embodied with the heart of courage can hold in the confines of her hands power to deliver compassion.

'Woman,' wears kindness and charity as ribbons of honor.

'Woman,' is proof that God extends forgiveness to a world lost in confusion and darkness. A woman's lips can bestow healing peace. The smallest of woman's hands can hold the hope of tomorrow. For in her arms is the security for today.

'Woman's ' need for man is only surpassed by man's need of ' Woman.' Without her, his life is incomplete.

'Woman,' initiates balance between the world and home. She establishes a haven of protection from the hurts and slings of this world. 'Woman,' a dreamer inspired by the colors, scents and sounds around her. She brings Glory and Honor to the Lord she loves. 'Woman,' blessed, is smiled upon. Often sent into the dredges of the world. Carrying His message of Truth. To witness of His Sacrifice. To love the unlovable. To embrace the unwanted.

A Woman raises her hands to worship her God from whence it all comes. Without thought of how it appears. Lifts her voice in song with her sisters around the world. Bringing tears to all who hear. Beseeching the world to join them in peace. Join them in spirit.

Built within the deep substance of 'Woman' is a desire to overcome adversities. To always finish better than she began. To improve what sometimes appears to be desolate. A 'Woman' can bring order out of chaos. Build a home from a hovel. Take the driest, stringiest cut of meat and turn it into a stroganoff. Soup can appear as if by magic from an onion, a potato and a handful of peas.

A 'Woman' is able to take a scrap of material and make a window dressing. Or, take a window dressing and turn it into a 'scrap of a dress.' 'Woman' brings decoration to each environment she inhabits. A paper plate, a cup of macaroni, a bit of ribbon and she creates a wreath. Give her a penny and she can pinch it till it screams. Hand her a dollar and she can stretch it till it almost tears.

'Woman,' with a tender caress can make a pauper believe he is a 'king.' 'Woman' can be a Friend, a Lover, a Mate. She's a Daughter and a Sister. She's a Wife, Mother and Grandmother. All manner of persons in one lovely package. A scene most precious, 'Woman' with a little child on her knee, wiping his tears and kissing his brow. 'Woman,' - unique - no doubt about it, not another creation like her since the beginning of time. Created to meet life's needs. Created to overcome life's challenges.

Ah, Woman! What can be said of that which has already been proclaimed, 'Good,' by God Almighty, Himself.

The 'Femme Fatale'

The sky growled and it thundered loudly. The earth was damp with heaven’s waters. Not a care of the world. She enjoyed it all, every drop of it. It was something she felt very close to. Rain… when her femininity seemed to come alive and take over her completely. The look in her eyes maddened him. He leapt to grab her hand, push her close to him but she escaped narrowly. Laughing and giggling, her eyes danced as the sound of her laughter spread like magic in the air. She was playing hard to get. The little crazy creature had him running after her for days, a trance that was taking over him with every passing day. He had to have her! There was no end to this madness that now raged within him like a wild fire. She was an amalgamation of beauty, femininity and something so vividly sexy. Her alluring mass of long, thick hair reminded him of wild waves… proud and powerful. Her eyes looked like innocence captured on canvas to the very perfection of a human hand.  But wait… she was giving him that look again… oh when she looked at him like that! Her eyes turned wicked now. It was a challenge. She was part angel, part devil, and the way she changed with them was what turned him on. She knew this game too well. Up until now, he charmed the very alluring of women, casting a spell on them till they could no longer bear to be without him. They flocked around him, some fought over him, some cheated for him, some claimed to have found a deeper meaning to love. But he knew it was pure lust, mere desires of the body, that were as momentary as they could really be. His fleeting affairs with the very “sought after” women had blessed him with an arrogant air about him. He was the kind of person who wouldn’t take “no” for an answer… but the beauty that his eyes beheld seemed to take immense pride in breaking every shred of manly ego he had in him when it came to his sensuality. He was frustrated now… she was enjoying this.

“Listen to me!” he called out to her. She heard him alright, but she didn’t stop. She was pacing fast now, going further and further away. He followed her, deciding not to give in if that was what she wanted him to. Two steps more and she looked back. A smile at the end of her full lips and that touch of naughtiness in her eyes lighted something in him again. She walked in a steady rhythm now, a proud rhythm with sensual movements clearly visible as the rain drenched her on and on. He was under a spell. He knew he had let go of even the very last bit of pride in him by following her like that. But he was doing it, partially amazed at his helplessness.

It thundered again. He knew a chance when it came. He leapt forward, grabbed her by her tiny wrist and pulled her towards himself. He grinned to himself as her eyes looked at him in bewilderment. She put on a brave face and met his eyes boldly. The eyes were doing it again. With a blink they were soft, like a baby’s, but continued to grow aware of their power as the gaze held longer. He was watching her now. Closely. The way her damp hair fell on her face… tiny drops of water trickling down her high cheekbones, down onto the earth from her delicate chin… Strangely, she smelled of the fragrance of damp earth… no... She smelled of jasmines… it was hard to make out. Her eyes blazed with a passion new to him. He had only seen weak women till now, the ones that were weak at heart and character, the ones who’d do anything to get him for a one night stand, hence his low opinion of women. But this girl seemed to challenge his entire knowledge about the female sex. She was hard to get, harder to soften up, impossible to tame. She had an air of dignity; an inner strength one couldn’t help sensing. Yet she seemed like the rest, alluring, sensual, suave. She knew the power she had over him and she knew the art of using it. Yes, it was an art for her. She was like a painter, painting his heart with a new color with wild strokes of her brush that almost killed him each time. Her full lips had an enticing delicacy to them that added to the glamour she shone with. He had never felt so numbed. He had never known the power of a woman over him. Had it been anyone else, he would have found himself in a momentary complex, yet she had a strange grace that whispered all his fears off. It was her “saving grace”, he decided to call it that. His arrogance faded and he softly let her hand go. She blew a kiss and she laughed and walked away, enjoying the rain as an innocent child would… wild and free.

She was “femme fatale”… in the best of the meanings. She could slay his heart with one look if she wanted to… yet she chose to show him something he never knew. She knew how to create magic; she knew well how to burn something wild and unforgiving in him. Her body could create desires untamed, yet her generosity could rouse a love that also knew how to gain respect and admiration.

She was, in every way, a woman. The perfect femme fatale.

To All My Girl Friends

I just got this beautiful forward about girl friends, check it out girls:

A young wife sat on a sofa on a hot humid day, drinking iced tea and visiting her mother. As they talked about life, about marriage, about the responsibilities of life and the obligations of adulthood, the mother clinked the ice cubes in her glass thoughtfully and turned a clear, sober glance upon her daughter. Don't forget your girlfriends, she advised swirling the tea leaves to the bottom of her glass. They'll be more important as you get older. No matter how much you love your husband, no matter how much you love the children you'll have, you are still going to need girlfriends. Remember to go places with them now and then; do things with them. And remember that "girlfriends" are not only your friends, but your sisters, your daughters, and other relatives too. You'll need other women. Women always do.

What a funny piece of advice, the young woman thought. 'Haven't I just got married? Haven't I just joined the couple-world? I'm now a married woman, for goodness sake, a grown-up, not a young girl who needs girlfriends! Surely my husband and the family we'll start will be all I need to make my life worthwhile!' But she listened to her Mother; she kept contact with her girlfriends and made more each year. As the years tumbled by, one after another, she gradually came to understand that her mom really knew what she was talking about. As time and nature work their changes and their mysteries upon a woman, girlfriends are the mainstays of her life. After years of living in this world, here is what I know about girlfriends:

1. Girlfriends bring you chicken curry when you need help.
2. Girlfriends keep your children and keep your secrets.
3. Girlfriends give advice when you ask for it. Sometimes you take it, sometimes you don't.
4. Girlfriends don't always tell you that you're right, but they're usually honest.
5. Girlfriends still love you, even when they don't agree with your choices.
6. Girlfriends laugh with you, and you don't need canned jokes to start the laughter.
7. Girlfriends help you get out of bad relationships.
8. Girlfriends help you look for a new apartment, help you pack, and help you move.
9. Girlfriends will give a party for your son or daughter when they get married or have a baby, in whichever order that comes!
10. Girlfriends are there for you, in an instant and when the hard times come.
11. Girlfriends listen to you when you lose a job or a friend.
12. Girlfriends listen when your parents' minds and bodies fail.
13. Girlfriends support you when the men in your life let you down.
14. Girlfriends help you pick up the pieces when men pack up and go.
15. Girlfriends rejoice at what makes you happy, and are ready to go out and kill what makes you unhappy.

Times passes.
Life happens.
Distance separates.
Children grow up.
Love waxes and wanes.
Hearts break.
Careers end.
Jobs come and go.
Parents die.
Colleagues forget favours.
Men don't call when they say they will.

BUT girlfriends are there, no matter how much time and how many miles are between you.

Powerpuff Girls

Girls rock! I know we all know it coz this blog itself is a dedication to us but whats it without proof. Although the Indian film industry is more or less male dominated we have had our share of girl power movies that have been made in the past. I would like to enummerate a few movies which were big hits and were women-oriented. Pardon me if i talk more about English movies coz i feel they have potrayed women in a much better manner as compared to Hindi movies even though there are some exceptions here and there. So here are my list of favourites in no particular order:

1. Charlie's Angels (Need i say more!!)
2. Erin Brockvich (Julia Roberts was outstanding!)
3. Bend it like Beckham (Yes women can play too!)
4. Lara Croft: Tomb Raider (Angie's action packed movie)
5. Legally Blonde (Inspiring stuff)
6. Kill Bill (Kick some ass! Yeah!)
7. Coyote Ugly (Lets have some fun)
8. Chak De India (Girl Power personified)
9. Dushman (for Kajol's power-packed performance)
10. Damini (for Fire-brand Meenakshi Sheshadri)
So here i am with my list. All you girls out out there are free to list your favourite "Girl Power" Movies. :)
